Your situation
Hearing loss is very common. Here, you can find information, advice and guidance to fit your situation, regardless of whether you have a hearing loss, are unsure about hearing loss or if a friend or family member has reduced hearing.
Hearing loss is one of the world’s most widespread conditions. One in six has a noticeable hearing loss. Noise causes more and more people to experience damaged hearing and the older we get, the worse our hearing becomes. That is a natural part of getting older. When we reach our 70’s, every other person does not hear as well as they used to.
Poor hearing can affect our lives and our relations with other people, just as it has a great bearing on our work life.
Yourself - or somebody you know
Perhaps you have a hearing loss and would like to learn more about it. Perhaps you suspect that your hearing is not as good as it should be. Or perhaps your spouse, or someone else you know, has a hearing loss. Perhaps that person has not yet realised, that their hearing is getting worse. We are often the last ones to notice, that we no longer hear as well as we used to.
Finally, there are also children who are born with, or have, a hearing loss. Children with hearing loss and their parents have certain challenges which they must face.
In this section, you can read more about hearing loss and what you can do to help yourself and others. It does not matter if it is you yourself or someone else who needs help.
For many, the answer is a pair of modern hearing aids.
