The International Congress of Hearing Aid Acousticians and the accompanying trade exhibition was scheduled to be held in Hanover, Germany, from 7 to 9 October 2020. Because of the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, this year's physical Congress and trade exhibition have been cancelled and postponed to September 2021.

The Digital EUHA Congress

Instead, the European Union of Hearing Aid Acousticians (EUHA) and the German Hearing Aid Industry Association (BVHI) will debut the Digital EUHA Congress.

The Digital EUHA Congress consists of two elements: Digital Future Friday and EUHA digital.

Digital Future Friday

The Digital Future Friday will take place online on 9 October 2020 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CEST. In four keynote presentations from internationally renowned speakers held from 2 to 4:30 p.m., registered attendees will learn everything worth knowing about the most innovative topics in hearing aid acoustics and hearing aid technology. Following each presentation, attendees will have a chance to ask questions in a live chat. Between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CEST, visitors can visit company booths on the virtual floor, and view the hearing instrument manufacturers' technological developments and product innovations.

EUHA digital

After the Digital Future Friday, EUHA digital, a programme of lectures featuring specialist lectures given by speakers from different countries, will start on 10 October 2020. Renowned experts will be sharing the latest expertise in the fields of hearing research, hearing technology, cochlear implants, marketing, earmoulds and hearing protection, listening effort, special-needs devices and individual fitting for musicians.

All the lectures will be online from 10 October to 8 November 2020. Every Friday during that period, some of the speakers will be happy to answer questions in an expert talk conducted in the EUHA digital chatroom between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. CEST.

Biggest virtual hearing-related event

EUHA president Beate Gromke: "We have launched the Digital EUHA Congress because we regard the coronavirus crisis as an opportunity. Using the options offered by digitisation to share knowledge and the latest findings to connect members of our profession and facilitate interactive formats, is of utmost importance to us."

BVHI Chairman Dr. Stefan Zimmer: “We expect this to be the biggest virtual hearing-related event of the year. October 9th, the kick-off day, offers high class speakers in the afternoon and live interaction at virtual company booths throughout the day. Don’t hesitate to reserve a ticket – tickets are free but limited.”
