Joey Jordison forced off the stage by tinnitus

Joey Jordison, the guitarist and drummer of the well-known American heavy metal band Slipknot, has suffered from severe tinnitus for the last two years.

Joey Jordison's condition became apparent when, while performing at a concert in Bordeaux, he was forced to leave the stage when his tinnitus became so severe that he could no longer stand it.

At that time, Joey Jordison's tinnitus was not public knowledge, and therefore various rumours started to circulate as to why he had left the stage early. As a result of this, Joey Jordison came forward and talked about his tinnitus.

Tinnitus is when one hears noises in their head 24 hours a day. The noises can be heard anywhere in the head or in one or both ears and consist of a constant ringing, buzzing or whistling. Nobody but the person who suffers from tinnitus can hear the noise, because it does not come from any external source, but in spite of this, the noise is not imaginary.
