International Noise Awareness Day 2007
The League for the Hard of Hearing is delivering a strong message on it's annual International Noise Awareness Day: Stop that noise! This year, the International Noise Awareness Day is April 25.
Noise is all around us and more and more people are affected by the constant noise in the home, at work, at school and in the streets. The International Noise Awareness Day brings the noise and the problems associated with it into focus.
"It is time that we take responsibility to quiet our surroundings and create a healthy environment for us and our children", says Amy Boyle, Director of Public Education at the League for the Hard of Hearing.
Worldwide, numerous events are planned throughout the International Noise Awareness Day. In one of them the public will be asked to observe the Quiet Diet. The Quite Diet, one minute of silence from 2:15 to 2:16 p.m. regardless of location, will tie the events together across the globe.
