Phone service for hearing impaired
Telephone centre in Colombia provides worldwide telephone communication to hearing impaired Colombians.
Recent data shows a rate of 17.3 percent of Colombians with hearing loss. This translates into 470.000 people who can take advantage of the new phone service.
The hearing impaired caller connects to an operator through a chat via www.telefonica.com.co or by using a text telephone (TTY).
The service will be available in several districts around the country. The intention is to phase in full national round the clock coverage at moderate rates in the near term.
